The Closing that would not close

| | Comments (10)
We were to close the sale of the townhouse on June 27 @ 11am. Then June 27 @ 4pm. Then June 28. Then June 30 @ Noon. After driving nearly 2 hours yesterday and getting almost to the settlement company we get a call that closing had to be changed to 4pm -missing paperwork. We drive home 2 hours. We drive back to Manassas -2 hours. Closing took 15 minutes. We drove home 2 hours. Do you realize how many hours we spent in the car yesterday? 8 HOURS!!!!!! 8 hours in the car = $26 in gas. Driving in the heat - $2.36 for 2 gatorades. The snorting noises the buyers made when they saw how much profit we were making = Priceless!!! BTW the buyer is a professional basketball player. That knocker was no less than 7 feet tall!!! His wife- maybe 5'5". He made me look like a drawf! How will I spend today? I have to brave the grocery store for tomorrows food, pick up a little pool for the tiny children who will be here most of the day Saturday, fill the tanks for the grill and the smoker. Then I have to start cooking to feed 12 people. I am already tired.

Angie, I feel for you! I hate time in the car when it is totally unnecessary like that. Get some rest, so you can enjoy the holiday weekend.

YAY! It's over!! Congrats Angie:-)

Good luck with all of your errands today. We are having people over Sunday too but I cannot begin that prep until I get my house squared away. Today I am going to soccer camp with 5 year old, off to Home Depot (in the big M), and then back to paint my bathroon and finished fencing off my landscaping so my huge dog stops running through my new bushes. Then, I need to do laundry, dishes and plan the food for Sunday.

Hopefully my blog will be back to normal soon. They said this morning, but it's still a mess. I trying to ignore the fumes coming out of my ears. I hate incompetence....

I don't know, Angie, about all this running around and work. I worry about you. Better start practicing your morning sickness mode, get hubs and Colby inured early. You don't have to do everything. Do you? Oh, rats.

Think of it as practice labor, you go through all that crap just to get to the prize. The townhouse is sold, and you got to see an athlete cringe, lol. Wish I was there to help you get ready. Pace yourself and take some naps. They are going to be gobsmacked when they hear the news and find out you put out that big ole spread in your delicate condition. (and if they don't appreciate it, heck you can always throw up on one of the little ones)

I frequently look like a "drawf". (re-read the part about the basketball player...ha!ha!) I enjoy your blog. Congrats on the house sale and good luck with your busy weekend!

Don't push yourself too hard, Angie. Your blog buddies will start to worry. Yes, us.

Congrats on the house! I know how that feels. We sold our condo a little over a year ago and closing was quite a relief.

I know the relief you feel that the closing if finally over - you really WERE put through the ringer.
Enjoy your family 4th picnic - they will be tomorrow's memories!
Hope MommaK lets me help her fix the food for OUR shindig! Weather should be much better. We will have all the sisters together one last time before the youngest treks down to Tennessee!
Have a great (Nausea free) weekend!
