Tit for Tat
I have never been one who really worried about or cared what other people think of me. If you don't like me, you don't like me, move on, there is nothing here left to see.
However, today I am feeling a bit of tit-for-tat just under the surface of my skin.
For whatever reason(s) my (former) reader(s) have chosen to delete me from their blogroll I will be reciprocating the above action post haste. I never go where I am not wanted.
And to any of those former readers who just might peek back in on occassion - this little piece of cyber space gets 3000+ hits every day from 30 countries around the world. There may not be much left by way of comments but I bet your journal, my former reader(s), doesn't get stats like that.
So there. I hope it stings even just the tiniest bit.
***apologies to my dear sweet readers for the venom in this next item, it is not directed at you, it is for the asshats who leave comments with fake emails and/or send email with nasty things to say***

On a related note to some emails I have gotten in the recent past-
I will not and refuse to apologize to others who take offense because maybe they can't cook, or they hate their SAHM status, or they spend money like water and never have cash for anything.
I don't feel sorry for you if you won't help yourself. I don't give out sympathy and pats on the back and tell you everything will get better. It won't get better until you pull your head out of your ass and grow up and be an adult and parent. If you don't like your life change your damn life. No one else can do it for you.
I also won't apologize because we have a tiny bit of monetary wealth. You can say mean things all you want about what we may or may not have. We have worked hard for what we have. Until I married I have held a fulltime job since I was 16 years old. I have paid my way and never asked for help. We have what we have because we save our money and tuck it away for things we plan for in the future. I don't have fancy jewelry or wear designer clothes -neither do our children.
I have spent time in the past where I had no idea how I would feed my kids from day to day much less get from week to week or month to month. I know what it is to be poor and not have anything at extra. It makes me appreciate what I have even more because I know it can all disappear in an instant.
BTW, I also love President Bush and my husband is a lifetime member of the NRA.

Angie, if it makes you feel at all better--I just added you to my blogroll. Not that that will do all that much, as I get maybe 30 hits a day. Still, every bit counts, right?
When a woman is strong, self-made and speaks her own brilliant mind instead of regurgitating empty-headed sheep dribble, she will usually encounter those, who because of ignorance, fear and jealousy, dislike her. I say good riddance- they don't deserve you.
I also say, who are they? I'd like to make sure I don't have them on my blogroll as well.
Yes, I second that. Who is being mean to you ? I don't want them on my blogroll either. You may put me to shame some days, but that's because I have a lot of RESPECT for all you can do!! I think the things you do are great! Just ignore the morons out there! Hugs!
Shall I kiss your feet now or later? Can I get an AMEN Sista!! Angie, my friend, you deserve everything you have, get and more. You've more than earned your share of respect, and wealth both monetary and heartfelt, at least in my opinion. I have tremendous respect for you and don't even know you!

I don't have you on my blogroll yet, but only cuz I'm fairly challenged in the HTML thang, but you are in my favorites and I 'hit' you frequently.
I have never understood why some people can't just go away without first saying something nasty. Envy is one of them there deadly sins, and those people will die sooner than they should out of plain old high blood pressure/stress.

I suppose that anyone who expresses their opinion bluntly will ruffle some feathers, and apparently you did some ruffling, huh?
I think that some people are insecure about choices they have made, and so they feel defensive and lash out at people who have made different choices.
We are all different in so many ways, but we also have so many commonalities. It's ok with me that you love Bush, even though I don't. You are religious. I am not. I don't read you because of your political opinions or your religion. I find you fascinating because of your background - so different from mine! - your love of your family - so similar to mine- your incredible wealth of knowledge and practical skills in so many areas - and I think we all know that I am sorely lacking in many of these areas...*sniffling a little* I realize I'm rambling here. My point is -- yes! I have a point! -- getting to know people who have different opinions and different lifestyles is what makes this world such a rich and interesting place.

By the way, after your last meatloaf/sex post, I had very different expectations when I saw the "Tit for Tat" title.

I figure this applies to feisty pregnant women, too. There's a reason this is one of my favorite places in the neighborhood, Angie. I always realize that the quality of your life is a measure of the commitments and effort you've made.

I must agree with MistressMary. I, too, believe that some people are so insecure in the decisions they've made that they lash out at those that have made different ones. As a result of the decisions my husband and I have made, we are very secure in our lives both financially (not rich, but comfortable) and emotionally. Everything we have, we've worked very hard for, both financially and emotionally.
My advice to folks who come across nasty people is to just be thankful - it could be worse - you could be them!
