Currier and Ives with Norman Rockwell Christmas

| | Comments (13)
Welcome to my very own Currier and Ives Christmas house via Norman Rockwell. We are resplendant in our decorated glory with snow covered lawn which is melting and ice covered back deck which is not melting.

This is us happily looking out the window watching Steven locate and dig up the septic tank because we have shit backing up in the downstairs bathtub!! I swear if one of those girls has flushed something upstairs and it is causing these problems they will get NOTHING from Santa. Nothing, I say! In other news my head cold has now moved to my chest and I feel like death warmed over. I pretty much slept the past few days and did little to nothing else. I am headed to the doctor this morning. All I can say is woe to him if he tells me I can't take any medications because I am pregnant BECAUSE I know that is bullshit BECAUSE I read too many blogs with women who take far more than some cold meds and have normal healthy babies! If I can get some relief I'll be able to make the rounds and visit all of your lovely journals tomorrow, -maybe. **I have to proofread Gracie's birthday post before I publish it. Look for it later.

When it rains, it pours. I guess the silver lining to this cloud is that it didn't happen the day before your party!

I sure hope the doc can help you feel better. I know what a bitch it is to be sick while pregnant. Hang in there, and feel better soon!

But look at the excitement and expectation on you and the kids faces in the picture as you wait for Stephen to find the lid to the septic tank and reveal the extra special Christmas treasures inside. (That really is the most hysterical picture to use with your situation. I'm sorry, but I can't stop laughing!)

Sorry you're having a shitty day.

I had a doozie of a cold when i was pregnant and my husband didn't wnat me to take anything, even when the doctor's said I could. It is so hard to be sick when you are pregnant.

Oh Angie, I'm sorry you're sick. No fun at all when you're in your last trimester.

At least it's keeping you resting. You were such a flurry of activity, I wanted to come up there and force you to put your feet up!!

Hope you feel better soon and get some good medicine!

Well- that's pretty Norman Rockwell, I think. The septic tank backing up...on the heels of a bad cold. It will all pass quickly I hope and youll be up and running headlong towards Christmas Eve. Enjoy the party- and swing by here with those pretzels on the way.

Icky on the bathtub shit.

You most certainly can take things when you're pregant and have a cold. I would have died if I couldn't. You can take cough syrup plain though, and you can take tylenol. You can take dristan spray to relieve your breathing at night.

Good luck and I hope you feel better for Christmas

And you will look back on this in ten years and laugh. *ouch* hey - don't slap me.

I remember my midwife okaying nasal spray and some type of cough medicine, robitussin maybe. But you'll be finding out tomorrow...

Hope your feeling better.
