I need another hole in my head ...

... well, like I need another hole in my head ... and it has nothing to do with pouring sense into my head. Remember back when I first got pregnant with Steven and the dentist decided I had two wisdom teeth that needed to come out? Today is the day they come out. I am off to have 2 giant teeth ripped out of my head. What a great day ahead of me, isn't it? Because afterward? 1. I have a baby who will still want to nurse every few hours -because he refuses to take a bottle at all. No bottle EVER. 2. No prescription strength pain relievers because I am breast feeding a baby and that stuff gets into your milk. 3. First thing tomorrow morning I have a seminar for training to be a walmart-style greeter at the Civil War Battlefield near my home. It is an all day long seminar with no pain killers. 4. While I am at the seminar, Steve and Colby will be home with the baby who won't be happy his momma is not home and will either cry all day or will give in and take a bottle. 5. Being woke by a baby every two hours or so all night long is very much like chinese torture. Some days I think it would be easier to just sit up all night than to be woke up just minutes after you fell asleep. 6. At 5:13pm today my baby boy will be 2 months old. How can this be?

Happy 2-month birthday to your little man!

Good luck with the extraction, Angie! Can't you take Vicodin? They give that to nursing post-partum women all the time. I was told by both my lactation consultant and my LLL leader that it was okay, but maybe it was the deranged gleam in my eye that made them say that!

Oh Angie! That sounds like the toughest day! I can't believe you have plans after having your wisdom teeth out. I am sure you will be able to take it but I was a mess, all swollen and lots of icky things going on in your mouth. I won't get into it but it was mondo not fun, the pain wasn't what got me, it was the huge gaping holes in my gums. Will hope that yours are quick and easy with little residual effects. You are trooper, Good Luck.

Hey, you'll do good! I'm guessing from hearing that only 2 are coming out that yours aren't all impacted and junk. That's good news. It could be worse my friend. Good luck!

oof. You have kind of a crappo few days planned for yourself here. Get some rest when you can, grab some Advil and comfy jammies and snuggle in with that cute little Steven of yours. Or your son, you could snuggle in with him too. ;)

Oh my Lord, Angie!! No way! I know you're a super woman but that is crazy!!

See how you feel and if you're not up to the training - stay home. Please?

I'm saying my prayers for you.

Poor Angie! I hope you don't hurt afterwards. The pulling for me was a piece of cake, but it took me days to recover. I hope yours will be very very easy. Hugs!

Angie,

I hope your extractions go as good as mine did. I was ready to go back to work the next day and took no prescription drugs either. I'm sure you have a high pain tolerance. Best of luck. My suggestion for a speedy a recovery is rocking with that precious baby boy.

Angie, why, why, why do you do these things to yourself?? Couldn't you wait a while to have the wisdom teeth out? Mr. kenju had a tooth pulled on Wednesday and he is still feeling poorly. I can't believe you will go to a training session for the battlefield just after that! Hope you do well enough without the meds.

Oh, big hugs. Big, big hugs.

Take the vicodan. And postpone going to the seminar. You'll want to read this first anyway.

OUCH! Hope the swelling's not too bad.

Both my boys were like that, no bottles for them, well, the first one did end up having to at 6 months when I went back to work. It was tough, my DH and I split shifts so he was home with him when I went to work and at first had to spoon feed him the breast milk I expressed because he wouldn't go for the bottle. I think he finally figured out he wasn't getting it fast enough that way and went for the bottle. My second one just didn't have to as I stayed home with him or had him with me every second of the day, and sometimes night, for he did not sleep either, Ack! I feel you pain, excpet for teh wisdom teeth thing since I never had that done, only 2 grew and they never moved upwards. Hope it all wasn't as bad as it sounded.

I came back to say that I hope you did okay today on the battlefield and that the baby did well without you!

Nothing beats hunger as a means to getting bub to take a bottle. It was the only thing that worked with Jasper. It took almost two hours (after a month of trying every other day), me not to be seen or heard, and the patience that only Chef has in this house. Calm, quiet, resilient patience. Probably developed from waiting from the storm that I am to pass.

I'm late... it's now Sunday... how did it all go?

The only thing I know from my experience getting my teeth out, that I was in A LOT of pain for about a week. Nothing but chicken noodle soup broth for me. And laying on the couch with big ice packs on my cheeks for the pain.

Hope all went well and that you did manage to get baby Steven on the bottle. It just makes Dads life so much easier at the times when he needs to feed him.

Hugs
