For those concerned about my post mentioning Steven had purchased a shotgun. We live in the United States of America. We exercise our 2nd amendment right.
We live in an area of Virginia infested with groundhogs. They are a rodent that is listed as a vermin and a pest. They will eat a garden overnight. They ruin field crops. They also tunnel and damage not only fields but property. They burrow under the foundation of farm buildings and cause major $$$'s worth of damage. It is legal and lawful to shoot them. We do. Our barn has sustained major damage over the past year and my garden is suffering drastically.
The Second Amendment, as passed by the House and Senate and later ratified by the States, reads:
"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
May you have a wonderful (and peaceful as possible) Memorial Day weekend!
We're traveling to stay with family this weekend, so we're the "interlopers." haha!
I try to be a "good guest", though, and not cause too much stress. It is usually I who have the stress because I'm trying so hard to NOT cause stress!
Have a wonderful day/weekend!
Wow you have been busy!
And why I must ask do people care if Steven bought a shot gun? Who CARES, good for him! He is a responsible adult that as you mentioned has the legal right to own it!
That Constitution has all sorts of good stuff in it, doesn't it? I just love it. :)
Angie, I see you have been acting like a whirlwind again. Take it easy and enjoy your guests.
Angie - if this is the spread you put out for your guests you're lucky they don't come every weekend
I'm not sure if our forefathers had groundhog control in mind when they wrote the second amendment but seeing as a few of them were from Virginia they might well have :)
Fire away, girlfriend!
Do you mean to tell us that you ironed your sheets?? I am so impressed. My Gram used to do that and it was so nice to crawl into bed at her house... You are making such nice memories for your children and your family.

I've got no beef with anyone owning a shotgun! It's machine guns I have issues with.
Sounds like you did your usual whirling dervish magic.
I wish I could be eating at your house this weekend!
Lazy, lazy Angie.
Way back before I moved to Florida, I lived in central VA. The groundhogs were a major problem. They were such a problem that one year this little town where I spent most of my time had a week for hunting the pests.
The person who shot the largest groundhog won a new shotgun.
There weren't too many groundhogs left after that week.
Ahead of the game? Wow. I can't say I've felt that way for quite some time.
I think I'd like to shoot me some groundhogs.
I still say hotel room and take-away. ;) Kidding! You sounds like the hostess with the most-ess!
What is French linen water? It sounds wonderful. I stayed with host parents in France and Germany when I was in high school and I remember the smell of my laundry when it came back-they wouldn't let me do it, they even asked for my underwear when I tried to wash it in the bathroom. I think laundry and hospitality should be more of an art-form-you sound like the queen. Congrats on your perfect post award! You earned it.
