The Wheels On The Bus

When Steven was born we were blessed with so many gifts. At the age of 6 months we were still recieving gifts. People were very kind to us.

Hi, Auntie Hope!
So many of the clothes were just the cutest things. So many of the clothes were purchased out of season I feared we would not get use them.

I love my schoolbus sleeper!
Stevens growth is right on track. At 8+ months age he is wearing 9 months sized clothing. Which is most excellent because fall has come with blustery temperatures of winter. Frost has been on the pumpkins two mornings in a row. Living in a 98 year old farm house you can see how long sleeved, footed, one piece pajamas are very important with a baby who kicks off the covers all night long.

How cute am I?
The sleeper in these photos is one Hope sent when Steven was born. I kept it folded in the drawer by my bed hoping that he wouldn't outgrow it before he even got to wear it. This is one of my favorites because of the school bus motif and the plush little red car that came with it.

The End
Thank you again, Hope. We love this sleeper. It is soft and comfy and keeps a baby with sweaty toes the perfect temperature to sleep well. BTW, notice anything wrong with these photos? Steven hates playing inside the play yard. He wants to be outside of it. What a major waste of $65. The only reason we bought it was to be able to keep him away from the fireplace. Which we have had no problems doing. I am beginning to think we are looking at the most expensive Christmas tree barrier to keep small hands away from delicate ornaments. Other than corralling his toys I can think of no other use for it. :-/

You know, he has a great smile! He really lights up the photo. :)

I can't get over how cute he is. And look at all those teeth!

My boy hated his play yard, too. We got it to have someplace to put him when I was bringing groceries in from the car. One day when he was about 10 or 11 months old I was putting groceries away and I heard a thump and then the swish-swish-swish of baby legs on carpet. He had busted out of the thing! You should have seen his face when he crawled up to me. He was so proud of himself. :)

We used to put ours around the fireplace. And Muffin Man would only get in it if we were in it. It actually was very useful when I was exhausted from chasing him around. We'd just sit in it together.

And Steven is delicious!

Yea! He got to wear it and he is adorable. His smile is a day brightener. It has to be a good thing that he does not want to be incarcarated, right?

What a cutie!!

I remember that when our first child was 1 at Christmas, I INSISTED on a table top tree because I was afraid he would:
~pull off the ornaments and eat them
~drink water from the base
~choke himself with the light string
~pull the whole damn tree down on top of him

He totally ignored the tree. I was worried for nothing. Welcome to motherhood, me.

It's amazing how quickly they grow isn't it? Adorable little boy. With the smile of a prince :)

Using that gate for the tree was my first thought too :)

That last picture is too funny! I too had a baby who didn't want to be "confined" in any way. His playpen turned into a corral for his toys until we finally just folded it up and put it away. We only used it as a crib for sleeping somewhere other than home after that.

You are in for some fun years with a boy, after having only girls for so long, LOL! Of course, I think boys are great, but I'm biased because I ONLY have a boy, LOL!

It's funny how much 'stuff' is recommended for babies...and how little of some of it you actually use! It all depends on the kid and the personality!

Gosh, he's getting big! What a little cutie. I had lost track of you for a while, I was so happy to see your comment and get you back on my blogroll. I have a lot of catching up to do!

He's gorgeous. As for the playpen, my son loved looking in and throwing his toys in, but hated being in it. I came to believe that the playpen was actually for me, so I could escape for a few minutes!

All the things that you think are going to help...

You could probably sit him in an empty laundry basket and he'd play for a half an hour :)

my pack n play was a giant toy collector.

And your boy? He. Is. Beautiful. What a grin!

Awwww, STOP WITH THE GROWING SO FAST, CUTIE PIE!!

I never bothered with a playpen, I just gated off EVERYTHING and let them go nuts in the hallway until they turned five. :-)

That is so funny that he does not want to play in it but around it!! That means he's already thinking "outside the box". :)

He has such a mature face for his age. So sweet.

I don't know how our parents just stuck us in playpens all day. I sure was never able to gate my kids in for long.

We did find a really great fireplace gate in a catalogue that we used in our old place. Cant remember the catalogue, but I have a feeling you've had it with gates anyway.

Angie, I have read all the way down, to see what I missed while I was away. I am so glad to see the baby's photos. He is so darling, and I agree with the little sleeper suit. It is so sweet.

I think the playyard will be great for keeping him away from the Christmas tree.
