Working Girl
Yesterday was Colby's second day as a working girl. She had departmental orientation for most of the morning. After she had to be custom fitted for a duck billed mask as protection when working with tuberculosis patients.
So everything is fine. The mask is going well. The person fitting her for the mask sprays her with a saccarine mist to test the integrity of the mask.
Within 5 minutes Colby's face has begun to swell. Her neck, and cheeks are covered in rising welts and her eyes are watering and swelling shut.
She had an allergic reaction to the mist.
She spent the rest of the afternoon being shuttled to and from associate wellness centers, pharmacies and her working department being treated for the acute allergic reaction.
She was then sent home with Benedryl and prescription cremes.
She slept three hours yesterday late afternoon and early evening.
This morning the swelling is gone. The blotches are barely visible.
My little girl has been at her first grown-up job since 6:30 am.
She loves it.

What a welcome to the working world for Colby! I'm glad she is better today and loves her work. That is what we all want for our children, right, Mom? - happiness.

Poor Colby! At least she was at the right place to have an acute allergic reaction. And she probably got to meet a lot of new people. I want to hear more about her job as things unfold. I'm excited for her and for you, too. Job well done, Miss Angie-Pangie.

Oh dear ! You must have been worried sick.
Of course it is good that she was in capable hands. It is nice that she is doing something she loves. I am sure that baby Steven misses her during the day though. Looks like the baby has sister's that just eat him up . Time for more photos ?
