Wedding Bells

My mother is getting married in two weeks. The cost of flying is so ridiculous that I won't even consider it. The cost of driving my big truck makes me ill. Figure at least five tanks of gasoline at about $120 a tank. But never fear! Economy of travel is not lost! We are going by rail. On Amtrak. Virginia to South Carolina. Round trip. $280. The complete cost for Colby, Gracie, Steven and myself. I have always wanted to travel by train. I am very excited. I am mailing our clothes. We will just need to get on the train and get off the train. Who knew traveling with a baby could be so VERY easy?

My Sted dad thanks you! He works for Amtrak, specifically developing the website you use to buy tickets now to travel.
I've always been very romantic and attached to the train myself...we have a few passes to go down and see my Mom in Reston, we just need to get our proverbial buttsin gear.
I hope you enjoy your trip!

P.S. Big compliments lately on your bag....seriously

Angie, I hope that train trip is all you hope for. I once went from here to Richmond on a train, and I enjoyed it very much. Hope it isn't crowded.

Give your mom my congratulations!

What a deal!

When I was 19 I traveled from Maryland to California by train, and back again. It was really fun. An epic journey, in fact.

I used to take the train from MD to NYC monthly when I lived up there. It was always a very relaxing ride. Enjoy!!!

Congratulations to mom.

I've never travelled by train. It does intrigue me tho. Maybe I'll go up to Seattle and see if I like it.

Beautiful garden and veggies.

Angie, I sure hope and pray that your train trip is a joy for all of you. I'll compare notes with you after the wedding and your return. My trip with the 2 kids was a trip from hell and we only went from Houston to Dallas so the kids could experience a train ride !!!!
Congrats to the bride and groom...ah-h-h... YOUNG LOVE !!!!
