I really did not know

J.E.B. went to the vet yesterday for his neuturing procedure. I had absolutely no idea when they did that sort of thing they completely removed the testicals.

Did you know that?

I did! But only because I've had several male dogs.

Yep, because I used to hold the skin away while the vet cut. Then I got to empty the bucket after they were thrown in. TMI? That's what you get from a vet. asst.

Yep. "Neutering" is just a prettied up way of saying "castrating." Because the point is not simply to keep J.E.B. from getting lady dogs pregnant. The point is also to keep him from being aggressive, roaming, etc.

I know this because the same thing is true of cats, plus tom cats spray all. over. the. place. Tom cats have big tom cat balls like ping pongs! Neutered male cats you see don't. So I guess it's the same with dogs.

This explains it.

I knew they did it to cats, but I have always had female dogs.

My last male cat sat with his legs spread, staring at his crotch for hours after his "removal". I felt sorry for him.

Yep, I did know that, even though I've only ever had girl dogs. But one of my girls I adopted STILL has the surgery ink in faint green on her belly. And we adopted her in 2002.
