She Looks Innocent

This little girl waited until we were literally walking out the door to tell me she was opening the school holiday program. She plays the viola. And so she did with a small group of other 'strings' players.

Afterward she participated in the program as a singer.

We could not stress enough to her how important it is that we know these things at least a day in advance.  I was holding my breath that the charge on the video camera would hold out through the program.

Tonight we are off to another program. This time it is a Christmas concert. The same little girl will be playing her viola. The camera is charging right this very minute.

Why does every school program require white shirt and black pants? Seriously. In some places I am sure it is easy to find black pants for girls. Here? Ha! I have had to hunt down and try to catalog order a simple pair of black pants. She was mortified when I suggested we go to boys department and just grab a pair of black jeans.

Persistance paid off. We found one pair of black (not too dressy) trousers after hours of looking through mall stores.

After you having moments of feeling as if everything is rushed this Christmas Season?

I know. I feel like, with Thanksgiving early, we got a head start but I am still running around crazy. 2 weeks from today...AAAKKKKKK!

Your Gracie looks beautiful. :)

My son did the same thing. After I got the black pants and black shoes for my daughter to wear at her concert, that night, as we were pulling into the driveway to get her inside to change, he said he was performing, too.

So it was insta-concert-wear time. The white shirt was OK, but black pants? Hah! He wore a pair from last year that were two inches above his ankle bone.

He's just lucky that at 12, he wears the same size shoe as my husband.

Yay for Gracie! She looks beautiful and I bet she sounded beautiful, too.

My girl child had to get a white shirt and black pants for her school choir performance. I NEVER buy her white shirts because she stains them within five minutes of putting them on. So we had to buy one. We actually found a decent pair of black pants at Target, but it was like a miracle. Whenever my kids need something specific like that, I can never find it.

Luckily the boy was only told to wear what he'd wear to church or a wedding for his band concert. His clothes from his cousin's wedding this summer still fit. I did have to buy him new shoes, though. Now that he wears man-sized shoes, they are EXPENSIVE!

We're not at that point yet, but I remember for MY school concerts it was white shirts and black pants OR black skirt for the girls.

I love Gracie and her carefree approach to life.
She knows her momma will always come through.
This is really a compliment to your fabulous mothering skills Angie. My young niece once waited till the bus was coming down the street to say that she needed a dozen pickled eggs for Science class and also I was to bring snack for soccer after school . I got it done. Did you know Giant sells pickled eggs? I believe if a house needed putting up before Sat.you would be the first called. I know you would be my 1st call w/ Miz S right behind .
