Flowing with Milk and Honey

Well, not yet but maybe by next spring!

Look what the mail brought yesterday to the farm.

I have always wanted to have honeybees.

I want to learn how to bake using honey instead of refined sugar.

I want to be more self sufficient and self sustaining.

I think this spring I am making real headway to get there!

Angie,

I agree with Pam!! What will you do next? Do you ever have time to prop your feet up and relax??? I don't see how!! Baking with fresh eggs and now using honey, I can only imagine how good everything will be. I recently baked a german chocolate cake using fresh eggs and it was unbelievable how much better the eggs made it.

It's so much fun to check your posts daily to see what you are up to next.

Wow! Bees now too huh? And I thought our place was a zoo. I can't hold a candle to you! I am very interested in hearing how this venture goes, so please keep us updated.

I am in awe of you.

I was at the Farmer's Market in Raleigh, NC last Friday and met one of your 'sisters'. She lives on a self sustaining farm just north of the city, and was amazing to speak with.

I was convinced, for a short while, that it may "really" be you or AC.

I'm jealous.

I've always wanted to keep bees. Honey's great, but what I'd really want is enough beeswax to make all my own beeswax candles. I hope you plan to do that; beeswax burns so much brighter and cleaner than paraffin and has a lovely sweet aroma.

OMG SO JEALOUS!

Hi Angie--Sorry to hijack your comments, but I've tried emailing you several times in the last few months and you haven't answered. Do you have a different email address now? Please get in touch with me at poppy2006 @ gmail.com.

Thanks!

OH wow! You're a braver woman then me. I really admire your dedication, and your adventurous side :)

I never imagined they would mail such a thing!

I don't know how I missed this post, but you could come here and get a lot of bees from me - they have taken up residence in my house again. I posted about it.

Holy cow. This is incredible. I hope you keep posting on how this adventure goes.

I'm with Poppy--I'm jealous of the bees, but less for the honey than for the beeswax, but for my soap and balms!

How fun! I hope no one steals your bees. Healthy beehives are so rare now that people are stealing them.

LOl Ok so I am kind of cheesy! I just realized that this last post and my email may be at odds?

Just wanted to say HI since you like to get notes from your lurkers!

I for one love the farm updates

Checking back soon,
Bea
