Flatout Bread
I picked up a package of Flatout Light Original Bread in the grocery store today. Reason one because it has low-carb plastered across the front. Reason two because I am so struggling with the need for bread!
For supper we used it as a sandwich wrap. Colby and I layered spinach and mixed baby greens, very thin slice of tomato, thin slices of pork tenderloin that I broiled with garlic, salt, pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.
Now - on to the product review:
The package of flat bread contained 6 pieces approximately 5inches wide by 8 inches long. The bread is whole grain -100% stone ground wheat.
They were soft and smelled delicious. They did not tear like a cold tortilla will. They rolled easily without tearing, breaking or crumbling or splitting like pita bread.
They tasted even better than they smelled. If you love bread you will love these. In no way do they taste like 'health food' or 'diet food'. In the past I grew so tired of the cardboard taste of the low carb items but now things have come a long way, baby.
The photo on the package shows them used for pizzas. The consistancy of the bread will make these perfect for a thin pizza for 1 for a meal. We are going to try them for lunch tomorrow as a pizza. I'll let you know how they do.

Angie - I have a question. Are you cooking regular meals for the family and then making yourself something special, or are you cooking a meal for the family that you can easily just eat part of, or what? That seems like one of the hard parts of dieting to me. Just curious.
