Wagon vs. Virus

Last month when that horrid virus attacked me I was still on the wagon. Actually hanging on for dear life.

The virus then swept through every member of this house. I was forced to care for them all and in some cases clean up after them. It was the longest 4 days ever when the baby got it. Diapers diapers diapers. That says it all.

Up to that point I was really doing great. I was loosing weight. I was in a great routine of salads and lean meats and drinking lots of water.

After the virus, everything I had eaten in the week before make me sicker to even think about it.

The only things I could keep down was bread, potatoes, milk - you know the white foods. Also the high carb foods.

I am just now able to look at a salad without a full body shiver.

It has been slow going to get to here and now.

I am now back on the wagon. The weight loss has resumed.

At some points I could almost cry and the time and the long road to get to where I was had been so suddenly derailed.

It is so very hard to start over again. I lost all of the momentum I had. Now I am building a new head of steam and trying to chug onward.

Wish me well.

I think this time it is even harder to get going again.

Week 4 weight loss

I haven't lost a pound this week.

NOTHING.

Nada.

I think it is because I am on my period. I hasn't been a great week. I have wanted to eat all day long every day. I think I have probably eaten too much of what I can eat to compensate. Not sure. Maybe it is water weight.

I am hoping next week will be better.

I am trying.

When at first you don't succeed, try , try again.

One good thing, at least I didn't put back any weight in the process.

Total weight loss 0 pounds.

Day #31

Breakfast - 2 eggs, sausage, 1 piece low carb toast (6 carbs) with butter, coffee

Lunch - mug of hot chicken broth from chicken soup I made (the last of it thankfully), vienna sausage with mustard

Supper - we went to a mexican restaurant, I did have a few chips with salsa, I ordered beef, chicken and shrimp fajitas but only ate the meat portions, no tortillas and whatnot. Unsweetened ice tea. Just in case I am going to count the supper as 15+ carbs because of the bit of salsa and chips I had.

16 carbs total for the day but I blew it big time. Steve and I shared a bottle of wine. I have been off of sugar and everything for over 3 weeks now and the wine I drank made me tipsy.
Weighing Myself

I got on the scale this morning because I forgot to that Saturday morning. We were in a hurry to do some things and on a deadline and it slipped my mind.

The scale says I lost 5lbs over the past week. I guess that makes the headaches worth it.

Altogether I have lost 11lbs but I do not feel like I have. Some of my pants are baggy and I had to hike up my britches saturday but still I don't feel like I have lost anything.

11 pound is -

44 sticks of butter

and it is more than -

2 - 5lb bags of potatoes

or

2 - 5lb bags of sugar
